Marketing Intern

Emmabodamo belaffar is looking for a Brisbane-based marketing intern to support our in-house marketing department one-two days per week. Running for 4-8 weeks (depending on university requirements), this internship is hands-on, will deepen your knowledge of the marketing space and will give you leading industry experience. In addition, you will immerse yourself in the culture of one of Norway's leading fashion brands who are creating trends, inspiring style and setting new standards in the affordable fashion market, globally. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with - and learn from - leading marketers, our co-founders and creative minds.

DC MANAGER (DISTRIBUTION CENTRE)

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced DC Manager to join the Emmabodamo belaffar team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be joining a passionate team in a time of growth and exciting new opportunities.

This role will see you responsible for managing and leading our distribution centre operations.

 

ROLE OBJECTIVES: 

  • Collaborate with management in the development of performance goals and long-term DC operational plans
  • Analyse current DC operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary
  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organising, directing, and training DC employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals
  • Develop DC operations systems and processes that optimise product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilisation, inventory management, and shipping
  • Train and manage the DC team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
  • Review and prepare workflow and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with regulations
  • Recruiting, training, setting KPI’s and monitoring performance. Providing disciplinary measures where necessary ensuring legal compliance.
  • Lead and motivate the team to create a positive, inclusive and engaging work environment

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Supervise daily activities of the distribution centre, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, productivity and shipping.
  • Schedule and oversee DC team to meet customer demand, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximise efficiency and minimise overtime
  • Inspect property and equipment and coordinate maintenance and repair as needed 
  • Meet regularly with  Operations Manager  to review, analyse, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention
  • Oversee and manage logistics utilised to transport products to customers and internal facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of parcels

 

KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS:

  • Percentage of orders returned due to incorrect items/undeliverable parcels
  • Time between order date and despatch date
  • Labour cost per order
  • Lost-time injuries and safety near misses



ABOUT YOU:

  • 1+ years experience in a Warehouse Manager, DC Manager or supervisor  role, ideally with a fast-moving eCommerce brand
  • In-depth knowledge of ecommerce fulfilment, warehouse operations and 

    Skills using WMS and IMS (experience in PVX will be preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • eCommerce experience highly desirable
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude
